LICENT

From among the universities which award legally recognized degrees (as with Italian State Universities), the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano is the most comprehensive and complete in Italy. Thanks to its prestigious faculty, the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano excels in the diverse and articulate study opportunities that it offers, both in the humanities, as well as the scientific fields.

Through the courses offered, combined with strong research programs, the university values and promotes an interdisciplinary approach which helps students gain scientific knowledge in a responsible and autonomous fashion.

The extensive research program closely collaborates with 16 internal colleges, 62 departments and 93 research centers. Their common goal is the understanding and study of those topics that have proved vital to the well being of each human being: the new frontiers of economics, bioethics, environmental recuperation, developments in the judicial fields, family dynamics, major mass phenomena, the evolution of political systems, new horizons in medicine, the technological applications of physics and mathematics, and the most recent discoveries in environmental research.

The Laboratory of Human Interaction and New Technologies (LICENT) was founded in 1996 as a part of the Department of Psychology of Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano. The main research focus of the lab is human-computer interaction, with particular reference to the study of communication processes in mediated environments. The LICENT lab has participated in several national and international (EU) funded research & development projects in the field of virtual reality, computer-mediated-communication and e-health.
